Aluminium Facade Systems

In today's building projects, glass with aluminum bearing system and different cladding types are one of the most important work items. In the new century, the building designs have been moved away from the traditional geometric forms towards free-form building surfaces and facades with unique design. Due to different needs, we see projects with bigger structures and panel types. These situations also directly affect the design of aluminum and other materials used in projects.

As FDS, we prepare structural solutions of aluminum façade systems and all other related structure types. By taking into consideration the various standards of the world, especially the European Standards (EN), American Standards (ASCE), National standards (BS, DIN, NF) and technical specifications such as CWCT.

Façade engineering calculations generally include analysis of profiles, window frames, determination of the size and types of fasteners, calculations of anchors and substructures of various types. In addition to the static analysis of the facades, we can calculate heat / energy performances, condensation and thermal bridge calculations according to the relevant EN standards.

Detailed reports containing all these calculations are presented to our customers. Additional structural elements such as all kinds of metal substructures or decorative claddings applied to the building face such as aluminum composite boards, sun-breakers and catwalks are also frequently used with facade systems. Composite panels have the advantage of both light weight and assembly as well as the ability to complete the facade aesthetics. Facade main frames can be aluminum or steel. In facade systems, the effects of the loads determined by the standards, especially the wind loads, snow loads, thermal loads, earthquake loads, which affect the buildings, are taken into consideration. The material resistance and strength limits are compared to the combinations of these loads and the most suitable design solutions are found.
